I would like to inform you that the United World Wrestling Executive Committee met last Monday to speak about the current health situation and the upcoming months for our Sport.
First of all, based on several aspects (travel restrictions, competition with closed doors…) provided by the Finnish Wrestling Federation, it was decided to cancel the U23 World Championship.
The Executive Committee agreed to let a National Wrestling Federation to host International Tournament from the 1st of November but the holding of these events is under the condition that their Government allow such events and that the organizers implement sanitary conditions to protect the health of all participants, which must be reviewed by UWW.
For the Junior and Senior World Championships that might be organized in Belgrade (SRB), we are currently reviewing all the updates received from the National Wrestling Federations. A complete report will be made for the Bureau Members for the end of the Month. We are also working closely with the Serbian Wrestling Federation to be ready if the Championship will be maintained. You will receive more information about this Championship at the beginning of October.
